what is a "Mantra" ? to me it looks exactly like a MB Sprinter NCV,maybe a local licence production just like the indian Force "Traveller", a copy of the MB 308-D(predecessor of the Sprinter, build between 1977-94) behind that´s a Opel Movano, identical with Renault Master

It is not just the lettering, but the badge in the grille has been replaced too. You are prob right but I couldn't find any more details myself.

The Mantra is a vehicle produced by Achleitner, an Austrian company. It would seem that either MB has taken them over, or they're using a Sprinter as a base vehicle.

I was just wondering, although SMURD ambulances have fire brigade markings on them, are they actually crewed by firefighter-paramedics, or do separate personnel serve as medics?

In 1991, SMUR received its first mobile resuscitation unit, donated from Germany . This unit brought a higher level of pre-hospital medical care, and easier one.
